The 3rd Habib Bank UK Heritage Polo Cup 2008 took place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 2nd & 3rd of August.
Highbury Finance Helvetica Team battled out the final on Sunday with a surprising win over
the HABIB BANK UK Pakistani Invitational Team with 81/2 to 6 goals.
An outstanding performance was given and most valuable player in the Swiss Team was
Thomas Hunt, also receiving The Best Playing Pony Award with his mare "Gatta".
The British Army Officers held up against a very strong Team US from Washington DC,
with Juan Salinas-Bentley as Team Captain over ruling the hosting Team formed of
3 Officer Cadets Holtum, Morley and Hopkinson and 2 Army Officers.
All players were kitted out with T.M Lewin shirts & ties from O.H Hewett. Lollypop
Breeches in suede leather were manufactured especially for the event by Kashket & Partners Ltd.
for the Sandhurst Team.
This is the 3rd consecutive year of Heritage Polo, going from strength to strength and winning interest and popularity at home and overseas.
